Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy

What is VSMT?:
Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy is a non-invasive, manual therapy that works by applying gentle, controlled thrusts to specific joints to help resolve restrictions that are affecting the normal movement. This can be done on the back, neck, shoulders, arms and legs.

What to expect at your appointment:
VSMT Evaluation: your pets first appointment will start similar to your regular veterinary appointments with our team getting a history from you about your pet. Then, Dr.Godfrey will preform a hands on exam of your pet including joint and soft tissue palpation, a neurological evaluation, and a gait evaluation. After preforming necessary treatments, Dr.Godfrey may advise you of exercises she would like you to complete at home with your pet to compliment the therapy.
This first evaluation appointment is 45-60 minutes.
At your pets follow up appointment, a brief history will be taken to discuss improvements, questions or set backs. Dr.Godfrey will then perform treatments and modify the plan as needed for your pet.
This follow up appointment is 20-30 minutes
Laser Therapy
What is Laser Therapy?
Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment that is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and improve the healing process. Veterinary laser therapy has been scientifically proven to help treat post-surgical pain and many acute and chronic conditions. Laser therapy uses a beam of light to deliver adequate dosages of laser energy (photons) to the deep tissue, triggering a healing process called photo-bio-modulation.
Who is Laser Therapy for?
Laser therapy can be used for many different patients and conditions due to its wide range of settings.
You might consider laser therapy for your pet for:
- Surgical or traumatic wound healing
- Musculoskeletal pain or injury healing
- Arthritic patients
- Ear infections or hot spots
How do laser therapy appointments work?
Once a veterinarian has come up with an appropriate treatment plan our technicians can complete the laser treatment with you and your pet. Both you and your pet will be given a pair of fancy googles to wear to provide protection from the laser beam. treatment time depends on what the treatment is being administered for and the number of locations being treated. Once the treatment is complete, depending on the condition being treated and the recommended plan by the doctor our CSR team will book your pet in appropriately for any reoccurring treatments.
