MACKENZIE HOLMES

Mackenzie joined the KAH team in June 2024 as a Technician, bringing a unique passion for both veterinary medicine and wildlife care. She is a graduate of Northern College, completing her Veterinary Technician program in June 2023 and her Wildlife Rehabilitation program in June 2024. Mackenzie is known among her coworkers for her knowledge of exotics and wildlife.  Mackenzie is also famous for her love of orange cats and reptiles. Her favorite parts of the job include seeing reptilian patients, meeting orange cats (and really, any kitties), and performing blood draws—especially when it helps provide answers and better care for her patients. At home, Mackenzie has a full and well-loved animal crew. She shares her life with Maggie, a 13-year-old calico family cat; Marble, a 5-year-old orange-and-white tabby; and Pasha, a one-year-old leopard gecko. She also lovingly remembers Orion, her first leopard gecko, who was with her from high school until October 2024 and will always hold a special place in her heart. Outside of work, Mackenzie stays busy and creative. She plays hockey on weekends as a forward wing, plays the drums, and loves to read. She’s also an avid anime fan.
